Saint Louis, MO asked in Copyright for California

Q: I am currently working on a website that uses words richie rich in the domain name. Would that create a copyright issue?

It's a website to build a community and I'm not sure whether it'll generate a copyright issue or not.

A: If "Richie Rich" is being used as a trademark by another user and your use of the name would result in a likelihood of confusion regarding the source of the website, you may have a trademark issue. Likewise, if your website is using material for which you do not own or have permission to use, you may also have a copyright issue. You should consult with an attorney.
