A: An attorney familiar with the applicable laws of Puerto Rico could advise best. But you await a response for four weeks. As a general matter, if a wiretap is conducted by authorities, there is ordinarily a need for a warrant based on probable cause. As an action not conducted by the state, it could give rise to privacy law-related violations. But the most meaningful way to determine what rights have been violated (outside of federal ones commonly applicable to all U.S. states and territories) would be through a consultation with an attorney who is licensed in Puerto Rico who understands privacy law matters. Good luck
