A: In order to claim benefit from the patent application, the claims must be supported by the disclosure in the provisional application. If you need drawings, then the drawing should be in the provisional.

Now, an application to a chemical composition, such as a lotion, do not generally need a drawing. I've written several patent applications to lotions, and I don't think that I've ever included a drawing. And that is OK.

You may have some drawings included in a patent application for a lotion, such as graphs showing efficacy, but I usually eschew including graphs in favor for tables, unless a graph is needed to show something that is not apparent from the tables.
