A: The ticket that you signed, giving your promise to appear, in order to be released will have a date on it by which you need to report to Court. You don't have to go at that exact date as long as you go BEFORE that date to see a Judge for Arraignment- entering a plea. Having said that, the Courts have been closed since mid March. Things are a little backlogged right now. (ha that is an understatement). Because of this you may be receiving a notice by mail to tell you that your date is postponed. It will be sent to the CURRENT ADDRESS ON FILE WITH THE DMV, which you should be able to update online. If you don't show up, an additional $300.00 "Civil assessment" will be added and reported to DMV, your license will be suspended.

You may be given the option of pleading guilty or not guilty at arraignment, if you plead guilty, you may have your license suspended as well as a fine, which the Court will usually let you pay over time through the "Collections office."

As for your impounded vehicle, start saving your money because there will be a towing fee and a daily impound fee which fees will run into the 100's of dollars.
