A: Generally, a parent can exercise their parenting time as they wish, within reason and within the welfare of the child.

So, the parent can leave the state, etc. so long as they are back in time for the next visitation exchange.

That being said, there are agreements and court orders with all sorts of limitations, requirements, etc. For example, notify the other parent if you are not in your primary residence overnight. No international travel without the other parent's consent.

A parent can ask to limit the other parent's travel during their time for good reason.
