Q: put two deposits down on pups but the lady sold them after i gave her the deposite? she lives in NY i live in VT ?
so i put to puppies on hold with a deposit of 150 on each puppy so i only needed to pay them 300for the remaining of what they wanted . i picked one out on the 13th and one out on the 14th. 2wks latter i get a phone text that her sisters dog attacked one of my puppiues and needed to be put to sleep. however she tells me dont worry about it that between what i paid between both would cover the one puppyt but i have been trying to pick up a puppy THAT SHOULD NOT B LEAVING MOMMA. the lady told me i can pick her up this saturday that has passed. but since then she has not gotten back to me. NY tells me to go to VT state police to make a report but VT dont have any laws bc it didnt happen in VT it happened in NY what can i do bc litterly im out of 100.00 on two dog crates im out of all this dog food puppy milk as well as the money for the dogs can NY POLICE HELP ME
A: The police in either state will consider this a consumer/civil matter not criminal. If you paid by credit card, call credit card company to dispute charge. You can make a complaint with Better Business Bureau, Attorney General’s office and Department of Consumer Affairs. If all else fails you can bring small claims action.
