Lemont, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: Is there anyway I can fight a trespassing charge without a lawyer?

Me and my friend have been charged with trespassing in a parking garage because he lit a smoke bomb off, we are only teenagers so it’s not exactly in the budget but since we are 18 we don’t want it on our permanent record, any help is appreciated

A: Talk to your parents and have them hire an attorney for you. This is not something you want to try and handle on your own. The sooner you hire an attorney, the better. Please note, if this has been charged as an Ordinance Violation, you will not be able to get a Public Defender.
