Q: Can I take this dog to California with me?
I have had my "uncles dog" who was neglected and underfed (under his supervision) for over a month with no question of him coming to get her. Now I am moving to CA from KY and he says I cannot take her with me. Because she was neglected and I have gotten her healthy and happy I want to take her with me to keep doing so.
A:
No, legally you can’t take the dog from
Him without his consent. However, if you won’t voluntarily give him back the dog, he would either have to call the police (who likely won’t do anything) or sue you and win to get the dog back.
