Asked in Landlord - Tenant for Florida

Q: Hi , on March 17th I send a text to my landlord that I am leaving the apartment and the country due to covid 19 .

According to the lease I gave him 30 days notice.

March was paid in full . While leaving I couldn’t take my personals out do to curfews . Now he will not return my security deposit saying I owe him money for last few months since my boxes are in the apartment.

How should I handle this .???

Thanx

A: You should pay him what you owe him. The curfew excuse is garbage, and by not removing your items, you didn't vacate the apartment.
