Philadelphia, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for Pennsylvania

Q: How do I get an officer to drop a ticket?

My son is just 3 days shy of his 18th birthday. He was pulled over for going 38 in a 25. The officer was using a speed trap w lines and a stop watch. My son is very worried his father who has primary physical custody (we share 50/50) legal custody, will find out. He is moving a few months after he turns 18 and is concerned his dad will make things very difficult on him. His dad is very volatile and aggressive. He asked me to help him w the fine and have any contact w the court go through me, so his dad doesn't find out. I was just going to pay it and have him work off the debt for me. However upon doing some research. I am concerned now thay because he is still a juvenile that he will be required to appear in court and thay a notice will be sent to his residence. Would it be advisable to contact the officer and request that the charges be dropped? So we can avoid any issues with his father thay may cause him distress? I am also concerned for his driving record. How should I handle

A: Hiring an experienced lawyer will help. It’s been my experience that many officer are willing to work with you and reduce the speed so hopefully he does not get any points.
