Louisville, KY asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: What happens if I found a dog and got her vet papers and after a year the original owner shows up and Tries to sue me.

My mother in law found her roaming around, months later she gave it to me and I took her to the vet and got her all the papers and everything she needed. She escaped from home a few days ago and just happens to be found by her first owner, now, could he sue me for getting the dog new papers ? after they told me at the vet I could keep her the because it didn't have a microchip. I'm in Kentucky.
