A: Hello,

You can check the current processing times for the I 130 application here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

This will give you the time frame for the initial step that is then followed by State Department processing - which is normally another 90-180 days.

I normally tell applicants to expect between 9-18 months for a marriage based application process, but it fluctuates, especially due to covid and US Embassy closures. At the end of the day, the sooner you file, the sooner your spouse will be in the USA. Speak with a qualified attorney to go over the process in more detail. Good luck!

A: If you have not yet filed the Alien Relative Petition you are looking at about 1 year. The system is very slow right now due to the delays caused by Covid.

A: Spouse overseas would need to process at the US consulate in her home country. It takes about 12 to 15 months.
