Q: In Louisiana, does the mother automatically have custody of the child if the father is not on the birth certificate?
My son was by a family members house and they allowed him to take the child and he never brought him back and will not answer the phone.
A: No one has automatic custody. Both/either parent needs to file for custody with a lawyer
