Tampa, FL asked in Criminal Law and Civil Rights for Florida

Q: I live in Tampa, Florida in Hillsborough County. Can I legally put a body camera on my child on the school bus?

I have asked the county for a copy of the video footage from the school bus over a "mask" issue when my daughter was adjusting her mask and was given a "disciplinary letter". My daughter was called a liar when I asked the driver about the situation. One thing my daughter won't do is lie to her dad. The district informed me that parents aren't allowed to view footage. They pulled the tapes from the bus, reviewed them, and never got back to me. Now my children have been pulled to the front of the bus to sit and are monitored after the event. I just got another call from the transportation division. Supposedly my daughter had another mask issue. She lost her mask at school, and was told by her teacher to use her sweater to cover her face til she got on the bus. Well, the bus driver said she refused to wear a mask, meanwhile she found a spare one in her backpack and put it on. The stories I'm hearing from my daughter and students, vs the schools report are two completely different stories.

A: I don't see any reason, legally, that would prohibit you from doing so.
