Naperville, IL asked in Criminal Law for Illinois

Q: How to go about a recent MIP x2?

Recently, I was ticketed by a police officer for possessing alcohol. I had 1 beer, but I also had an "alternative nicotine device" on me, so I received 2 tickets. I am 17 years old and have not had my hearing yet. I know I've made a mistake, but I'm not sure how to proceed, as I know an expungement is an option, but you can only do that once in your life, and I currently have 2 tickets to deal with. I'm not sure if pleading guilty or not guilty would be the correct route to take, and I'm not sure if there's any chance an attorney would be able to have the charges dropped in exchange for community service or something? Im worried as to how this will affect my life, specifically college admissions. Would you be able to help with any of the above questions?
