A: You are in a tough position. It is the LL property and he can determine what can be placed on it. He apparently is not sympathetic to either the false accusations against you or the fact that the boxes are being stolen from the neighbor. You could request that he put in a security camera for the entryways and threaten to "repair and deduct" by doing it yourself, but this is risky. How about a new peephole in the door, except instead of a lens, put your Ring on the inside of the door, after notifying him of a repair and deduct. This is also risky as LL could make you repair door. You might just want to take your lease to a tenant's rights attorney in your local area.
