A: Police will seize money if it’s anywhere near drugs or paraphernalia. They are only allowed to keep the money if it has to do with drug trafficking or promoting the drugs. They should have given you a copy of the search warrant before they searched your home. I would need more information about what your wife was charged with and what they found during the search. I would contact an experienced attorney as soon as possible so that your wife’s rights can be protected.
