Q: My last dui was 28 years ago and I need a license in Tennessee what will I have to do to get one?

A: Hopefully it was reported to DOS that you completed all sentencing requirements. However the DOS will probably want at least a driver's test and a reinstatement fee. If proof of the sentencing completion is required, you will have to go the Court in which you were convicted to get certified copies of various pleadings/documents. Go to DOS and ask what you need to get a TN DL. If the DUI comes up, ask what is needed to be reinstated. Do not get mad, just go through with the bureaucratic requirements. Do not offer anything that is not asked about.
