Q: I need help figuring out how to object to recommendations and proposed orders and I also wanna know about case transfer
I really need help but I don't have much money so any help will be appreciated...I requested a schedule change and also support modification as my former spouse only pays for health insurance ($31 x 2 a month) and I provide for everything else, (clothes, feminine products, school, etc..) we share private school fees...recommendations and proposed orders came back asking me to pay him $23/month (which is a non-sense) but they are questioning me because I only 2-3 days a week and elected to be there for my daughter ...questions I have:
1. Since my ex works for the State of Mi as a probationary officer, and he interacts with the court system on a daily basis (included the investigator making recommendations, and judges) CAN I REQUEST A CHANGE OF COUNTY FOR THIS? If I object to those recommendations I have until January 1st (21 days from the date it was prepared (dec 11th)
A: You will not be able to transfer the case to a different county under these facts. Attorneys and court staff routinely have personal family legal matters in the county they work in. If your ex is an adult criminal probation officer, he likely has very little to do with family court judges and the friend of the court anyway. If he is a juvenile probation officer, that's a different story. You should file an objection if you believe the support calculations or findings are wrong.
