Q: Mother is unstable. Does the father have a chance at getting full custody?
Couple divorced after 13 years and 3 children later (pre-teen girls). Father has served 15+ years in the military and is highly ranked. He is non-deployable and is 5 years away from retirement. Mother is unemployed. They currently have 50/50 custody but the children are wanting to be "home" more and are not wanting to go to their mothers but are scared to tell her that because of how angry she gets at them. She currently lives with new boyfriend who does not have the housing space for 3 children. Mother and boyfriend harrass father for over $1,000 a month in child support. Oldest daughter (14 yrs old) tried overdosing and committing suicide under her care a year ago. Children say that their mother and boyfriend fight constantly. Does the father have any shot at getting full custody?
A: Absolutely. Send the 14 year old to counseling. Hire a custody attorney who can file for any kids 12 or more to testify.
