Q: Inmate at MADF. False reg. (borrowed car) Driving on susp. Out on bail w/ FTA. Bail now $210k plshelp!!! Probono needed!

Fiance out on bail for driving on susp. false reg. & evading (arr. date 8/1/20) And old possession charge from 2018 that has a 14mo conditional sentence pending..he had a FTA warrant for (8/1/20 case) so he fled again and then crashed. New repeat charges are evading, false reg., & susp. lic. w/ enhancement and bail is now $210k. DA wants CDCR...what are his options?? Is a residential program possible? The car was borrowed by me and belongs to my brother and he wasn't aware of the registration issue. I need to find him help asap!! Probono attorney help? Consultation? Advice from any attorney is very much needed right now!! We will lose our home if he goes to prison. Please someone tell me what to do so I can help save my family!!

A: MORE INFO WOULD BE NEEDED BY YOUR LAWYER.

HOWEVER, I WOULD SUGGEST HE ASKS THE COURT TO APPOINT A LAWYER......IT WILL EITHER BE A PUBLIC DEFENDER OR PRIVATE ATTORNEY WHO DOES A LOT OF CRIMINAL LAW.

THAT LAWYER IN ALL LIKELIHOOD WILL DO A BETTER JOB THAN A LAWYER LOOKING TO DO SOME PRO BONO WHO MAY NOT DO A LOT OF CRIMINAL LAW.

THE PD KNOWS ALL THE JUDGES, DA ETC.........THAT IS YOUR BEST BET.
