Philadelphia, PA asked in Traffic Tickets for Pennsylvania

Q: Should i get a lawyer?

I received a call from my car insurance that said my car was reported in an accident. There was a claim that i side swiped their car causing very minor scratches, however, i have no idea what they talking about. I dont remember swipping anyone. I am going to contest with my insurance, however, extremely nervous about being charged with a hit and run. I've not heard from police. This happened some y hours. I would never knowingly scratch someone's car and run off. I am a working middle class man with a family and i dont need anything on my record.

A: Based on what you've described, if you do receive a citation it will likely be a summary offense and points and on your license as opposed to more serious criminal charges. If you do receive a citation or if the police do contact you, you should reach out to an attorney for a consultation.
