Tacoma, WA asked in Child Custody for Louisiana

Q: Daughters mother died. She was unmarried and I want custody. Grandparents filed false ex parte.

Hi, my daughters mother passed away last month. I went to pick my daughter up but found that the grandparents ordered an ex parte and it was granted. The exparte claims numerous false statements. And claims I abandoned my child, yet I have been there in some form every year since birth. Since 2017 I was denied visitation by the mother. I have proof of that. But I maintained video calls when she would let me have them. We were never married. There is no step parent on her side. However I am married. There were no custody orders. But I am on the Birth certificate.

The mother and my daughter lived with the grandparents for years. Do I still have chance do retain custody?
