Q: Do I have to move my car every 2 weeks?

I live in Chino, CA in a 50-100 unit apt owned by a LTD company. I've lived here for about 5 months and already feel mistreated. I've had prior issues and now I am having parking issues. Today I received an email from one of the mgrs saying she noticed one of my cars in the same spot for some time and says it NEEDS to be moved and washed so it does not look abandoned and for future reference to move the car about every 2 weeks.

This is my 1st time hearing of such a parking rule and it's definitely not in the lease. The manager that emailed this works at the office at the sister apt so why is she at my complex and in the resident parking area as oppose to parking in front by leasing office? I don't drive it and plan on selling but I am a resident in the resident parking area with my pass in the window. I am trying to figure out if this is legal or rule of the city or something or if its harassment. If I don't move the car what can happen legally?

A: The owner of private property can set the rules for how that property is used, including reasonable parking restrictions for permissive parkers. You are a permissive parker because you don't have a "right" to any particular parking spot. If you don't move the car, they can have it towed away.
