Q: I previously lived in Maryland and Maryland was collecting my child support payments and sending them to Georgia where
child support originated. Maryland is still collecting child support from Oklahoma and sending to Georgia. Is there anyway I can get those payments sent straight to Georgia from Oklahoma where I currently live. And if my daughter is 21 years old, am I still obligated to pay back child support and if so for how long?
A: You would have to request the case to be transferred to Oklahoma, which may or may not be allowed. As far as the back support - that will still be required because that is money that you were obligated to pay for the raising of your child.
