A: 1. When was the last time that you saw your child?

2. Is there a court order in existence that acknowledged you as the biological father of the child?

3. If an order is in existence, was it entered by the court in New Jersey or by a court in another state?

4. Do you currently pay child support for that child and if so, is pursuant to a court order? If so, was that order entered by the court in NJ or by a court in a different state?

5. Did the other parent previously live in New Jersey with the child and moved out of state or had she been living in a different state than NJ with the child while you lived in NJ?

To be able to provide you with any type of guidance, you need to provide much more information. In fact, you really need to schedule a consultation with a family law attorney to discuss all of the questions above and make sure to bring with you whatever paperwork you have as to court orders, text messages with the other parent on issues related to the child to better educate the lawyer on your claims.
