Q: i know my "parents" use my checks that i get from the state for drugs. they never buy me things that need

like female things and cloths, socks, shoes. sometimes we go without water for some days, sometimes we have no lights or food. so can i leave my house at 16?

A: I'm sorry to hear about your situation. You would have to be emancipated to legally leave the house at 16. I would recommend that you contact an adult family member who may be able to help with your situation, or contact DCFS (Child Protection) to intervene and get you the help that you need. If you feel that you are not safe, you should call 911.

A: No you cant leave your house. But you can call 911 and tell them you are a minor being neglected due to your parents drug abuse. Do you have a relative you can ask to take you in, once child protection opens a case
