A: Assuming he has the child for less than 92 overnight visits per year, and assuming you are not imputed income based on an ability to work but a voluntary choice not to pursue a job, and without adding in the cost of healthcare coverage for your child or other extraordinary child-related expenses, then based on his income he would pay approximately $1,350 per month. However, medical coverage of your child should also be added to the calculation. If you worked, then your income would affect the calculation, but you would also be entitled to an increased based on daycare expenses incurred while you work. If he has more than 92 overnight visits per year, then the newly enacted shared custody adjustments start to apply, and the amount of support is adjusted downward based on how many overnight visits he has per year. To give you an idea, 2 overnight visits per week equals 104 overnights per year.
