A: Those who want to sell can file a lawsuit for Partition. They will win. This will give the court the power to sell the property at auction and divide the proceeds among all the owners. An auction sale is not likely to bring in as much money as a regular sale.

A: Yes - the family members who want to sell can file a partition action to accomplish that. A better option would be for the family members to agree to have the land appraised and the members who wish to keep the land can purchase the interests of the family members who wish to sell based on the appraised value.
