Q: Can I file a police report?
I’m twenty-two. I live at home with my parents. I cannot afford to move out with college debt and not having a full time job yet. My dad & I recently got into a screaming match resulting in him putting his hands around my throat and shoving me into a chair. Can I file a police report? What would happen next? My mom witnessed the event but I don’t think she would testify against him. She won’t divorce him because “she cannot afford our life without him”.
