Asked in Criminal Law for Kentucky

Q: What can I do if my separated wife is telling me I have to pay her money to use a car that is in both off our names

I have her on a text telling me that the only way I can use a car that is in both of our names is if I give her money! Is that not extortion?

A: No. Don’t pay her anything. Go take the car and use it all you want. You don’t pay to use your own stuff. Snd file that divorce immediately.

A: It’s not extortion but she also has no right to say that unless it’s a car she’s been using for a long time that you have always made the payments in the past. Legally it’s yours and hers to do with whatever you want.
