Burlington, KY asked in Traffic Tickets for Kentucky

Q: Cited for 70 in 65, but ProLaser said 95, expired plates, that I renewed this morning, what will happen.

Officer pulled me over for going 95 on a 65 empty highway, only cited me for 5 over and expired plates.

Already renewed plates, what should I do and what will happen, I have a spotless record.

A: The officer did you a favor by reducing your violation to only 5 over the speed limit and it is great that you took care of the paper violation (expired plates). You can either do this yourself, or you can hire an attorney to represent you when you go to court to see if the prosecutor will be accommodating to keeping your speeding charge off of your record. Since a lawyer who practices in the area where the ticket was issued is probably more knowledgeable with how things are done and what to expect, I certainly recommend you hire a lawyer to represent you----pay a lawyer now is more likely cost effective when considering the spike in monthly insurance premiums you might receive for a moving violation.

A: Hire a lawyer to resolve for you. Five over should be readily resolvable.
