A: Just because your son is not on your policy doesn't necessarily mean he is not covered. Instead of relying only upon what the other driver is telling you, file a claim with your carrier. If they deny it they must tell you why and show you the language of the policy which they say supports their decision. You can request a copy of your policy in effect at the time of the collision to review it yourself.
