Louisville, KY asked in Traffic Tickets for Kentucky

Q: Will I lose my license? This was my first ticket

I was doing 80mph on a 40mph speed limit and got charged for that and got charged for careless driving. I've never gotten a ticket before and this was my first offense. When they pulled me over on the spot they didn't take my license away or have me arrested. And I got a non prepayable citation and have to go to court will I lose my license and how much would you think the fine will be? I live in kentucky.

A: If you have to plead to that speed you will be subject to a license hearing where you will either get probation or suspension. If you have no record and you have an attorney you have a decent chance at probation rather than license suspension.

A: Most likely you will not lose your license if you have a clean record.
