A: If the ticket indicates that you are required to go to court, then you are required to go to court whether or not you paid the ticket in advance. Most likely, a ticket w/MVA is a court required ticket-----what you need to do is report the MVA to your insurance company and request from your insurance company a proof of coverage letter or a letter of restitution and bring that document to you when you go to court. That said, if you have not consulted with a traffic ticket attorney in your area, then now is a good time to do so.
