Laramie, WY asked in Traffic Tickets for Wyoming

Q: I payed speeding ticket a month ago (from September) DOT will suspend my license if I don’t show up to court?

Received letter from WYDOTT dated June 10, 2021. It says my license will be suspended unless evidence of satisfactory compliance with terms of citation is received prior to the date of July 11, 2021. Does that mean I have to show up to court? Also ticket was issued to Fort Collins, CO and DOT letter is WY.

A: Without eyeballing the letter and the ticket, the most likely answer is that as long as you do not have a "court-required" ticket----which means you have to go to court----then you payment of the ticket should be all you need to do----the jurisdiction which receives payment will note that you have paid and close the file. That said, you might want to confirm with the court in Fort Collins that the ticket has been paid and file closed. Another solution to this is to contact the WYDOTT, tell them you have paid the ticket and ask them what WYDOTT needs to show "satisfactory compliance" and then proceed from there.
