Q: What to do when you get fired from your job after 10 yrs & right before your FMLA is due to be in affect.

I was diagnosed with a serious form of cancer & got fired due to missing 7days in a yr.

A: Look for a member of the WVa Trial Lawyers Assn who handles employment issues, ideally one in a town near you. They give free consultations. If you had requested the absences or had a doctors notes, you may be able to collect unemployment insurance. If you have a cancer diagnosis you should file a Social Security Disability claim or consider it.
