Q: Attorney is trying to get me a diversion in a prelim, but why the head DA in charge is taking a long to make a verdict?

A: DA's don't "make verdicts". That the function of a jury (or a judge in a bench trial).

How would any of us know why the DA's decision regarding your attorney's suggested plea bargain agreement be diversion? ASK YOUR ATTORNEY.

as i understand you are asking why the DA is taking so long to decide? who knows?

incidentally, the DA is trying to decide on a plea bargain/diversion, not a verdict, which is the function of the judge or jury.

your query is a question you should ask your lawyer who has all the facts.

the DA's are very busy because of all the covid cases still in the courts, which would have been resolved by now.
