Q: I have a ticket that was handle by a lawyer and resulted in a dismissal but later found out there is a suspension record
Record shows FAILURE TO POST BOND. Anything I can do to get that record removed?
A: Thank you for your question. The first thing I would recommend is that you contact the attorney who handled the ticket (and got it dismissed) for you and see if he/she can explain or look into the cause of the suspension.
Additionally, if you haven’t looked at a recent copy of your driving record, contacted the court or contacted New York State DMV, it might be a good idea to do so. Looking at your driving record, calling the court or calling DMV should help you narrow down the exact reason for the suspension and provide you with information regarding what, if anything, you can do to resolve this matter. If you have other tickets or issues with your license or registration, it’s possible that something other than the ticket that got dismissed is causing this suspension.
