A: An Alabama attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for two weeks. Until you're able to speak with an Alabama attorney for meaningful guidance, an accidental dent does not usually amount to being a crime in most places. Unless an accident involved intoxication, recklessness, or something creating criminal culpability, car accidents are usually treated as civil (non-criminal) matters virtually everywhere. In terms of pressing charges, that's something a district attorney generally does, and it's hard to imagine a district attorney treating an accidental dent in car as a criminal matter, unless there are details missing here. Good luck
