Q: I purchased a boat and got a bill of sale and title transfer and given the keys as well.
About a week and a half later my truck and the boat were taken by the police and the charge or grand theft and grand theft auto were filed. What should I do?
A:
If you have been charged with grand theft and/or grand theft auto, both felonies, you should refrain from making any statements to law enforcement and immediately hire an experienced criminal defense attorney.

A:
HAVE YOU BEEN ARRESTED?
WAS IT A STOLEN CAR OR BOAT OR BOTH?
I AM GUESSING CAR. I WOULD THINK IF YOU MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH POLICE YOU COULD GET THE BOAT BUT REMAIN SILENT AND DON'T MAKE STATEMENTS.
THESE ARE SERIOUS FELONY CHARGES AND YOU SHOULD BE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT FOR A FREE CONSULTATION WITH A CRIMINAL LAWYER IN YOUR AREA.................ASAP
A:
I agree with Mr. Abrams. Hire a skilled, experienced and aggressive criminal defense attorney who handles grand theft (if it pertains to the boat you bought) and/or grand theft auto cases. There are several potential defenses to the charges filed against you which could result in the charges being potentially dismissed against you or acquittal if the case goes to trial.
You do NOT want a felony conviction on your record which could affect your employment or future employment, your right to own/possess firearms, ability to vote, etc.
