A: You indicate that you have a question, but failed to ask it. Yes, you can be fired for just about anything; your employer doesn't need a reason. It's called "employment at will".

A: I agree that you can be fired for almost any reason in Florida (barring some exceptions). It does seem like this was a legitimate reason for termination as, maybe, your employer has some trade secrets that it doesn't want to get into its competitors hands. I'm not saying that you would do that, but your employer seems to be protecting its own interests here. If you have further questions or think you were terminated for any other reason, look into speaking to an attorney licensed to practice law in Florida and who regularly handles employment cases for a consultation.
