Q: I would like to sponsor my Filipino friend to come live in the United States. Is that something that is doable.

What are all the options? Other than k1 visa l. I am born and raised us citizen

A: No, probably not. The laws don’t allow those who visit to have immigrant intent. The law presumes immigrant intent, so an applicant for a non-immigrant visa must overcome the presumption.

Otherwise, they can be denied and may possibly be charged with misrepresentation which is an indefinite, even permanent bar to immigration for most.

If you have an interest in developing a relationship with a foreigner in good faith and without messing up, then I strongly recommend an appointment or teleconference with a competent and experienced immigration attorney. Good luck.
