Fort Myers, FL asked in Employment Law and Workers' Compensation for Florida

Q: Does workers' comp cover travel to and from a work location that isn't my main designated place of work?

Contract employer wrote this in offer: "annualized salary of $100,000 (based on working 40 hours/week) + annualized bonus $10,000 (based on working 40 hours/week) and company offered benefits-The annualized bonus covers any expense that may incur as a part of fulfilling job including but not limited to overtime work required, on-call requirement, any travel required (travel frequency will be approximately once in a week to Bradenton, FL and other locations as directed as per client’s need). I understand that (contractor) will not process any overtime, or any other expense (including travel) not paid by the client separately to (contractor). Client typically does not pay for the overtime or travel to above mentioned locations".

Is "annualized" bonus as stated used in the correct context? Workplace would be assigned to Fort Myers office but be required to travel. If injured during the course of traveling to/from other locations other than assigned location, would injury be covered?

A: I'm not sure your question belongs in the workers' compensation section as I don't see anything about you being injured on the job. However, if you were injured, you should look into a free consultation with an attorney licensed to practice law in Florida and who regularly handles workers' compensation cases.
