Q: I got a 4th DUI in OC; how may I get into the OC DUI court system when I do not live in OC county?
A: Is it possible for you to move to OC? You are correct in that you must reside in OC in order to be eligible. If you are not able to do so, there are other options to resolve your case successfully, but not with this limited amount of information.
A:
you have to appear in the jurisdiction where the crime took place. Remember OJ and the case in Vegas when he lived in LA? He had to keep coming back to Vegas.
you need to retain a DUI lawyer for the case to appear on your behalf ...or you have to appear.
with a 4th DUI, it becomes a VERY serious case.
hopefully, they are spaced out over decades.......however, if they are all recent (within 10 yrs) you will need a very good DUI attorney.
I would suggest you start a DUI program/AA NOW. That way you can show the court you are serious about addressing your drinking problem.
Dan Moseley agrees with this answer
A: If this is your fourth DUI, you may not qualify or be accepted for the program even if you live in Orange County. You can research the application requirements here: https://www.occourts.org/general-info/dui-court/applicants/ . Good luck!
