Q: Is this traffic ticket invalid?
I was pulled over for speeding. I was going 45 in a 45mph zone. The officer claimed I was in a 35mph zone and wrote my ticket for 49mph in a 35mph zone. I pointed out to him that day before the ticket that I was not in a 35mph zone and he got an attitude. I didn’t argue but instead accepted the ticket. Do I have a leg to stand on? I know I was in a 45mph zone. What proof would I need to provide to have it thrown out?
A: Assuming that the ticket has the location on it, as it should, one of the things that you can do is take a picture of the signs indicating what the speed limit is, and perhaps cross reference it with Google Maps.
