A: There is no standardized answer to your question. There is a backlog of cases and a shortage of Judges in New Jersey, but it should take less than a year. Pick the best attorney you can find and remember one rule: a good attorney is generally never cheap, and a cheap attorney is generally never good so don't choose based on price.

A: Thank you for your question. If both parties are in agreement for a divorce the process is relatively short, compared to if there are contested issues. An exact timeframe cannot be provided however because there are a lot of different factors which determine how long the divorce process takes. For example, are there children of the marriage and does a custody and parenting time agreement need to be reached, are there liabilities which need to be divided, and has either party filed a Complaint for divorce yet or is this a brand new matter. The availability and schedule of the Court is also a factor. You might want to schedule a consultation with an attorney so he/she can discuss the specific needs of your matter and give you a more definitive answer.
