Q: Who should I contact that is responsible for the officers in their jail and can actually get something done immediately?
My son is in a local jail, last Thursday February 10th he was beaten by five officers for a substantial amount of time he was beating about the face and head numerous times. He was denied Medical Care until the 5th day and then they allowed him to get X-rays, however, they will not release his medical records or send him to the hospital. And the x-rays were done it was showed the damage that was to his face and skull and he had numerous skull fractures and a broken jaw and he had screws in his skull from a prior incident that has been loosened because of the beating. He was also told that if his brain is not bleeding yet it will with the injuries that he has. Tomorrow will be a week trying to fight that jail to get him to the hospital and I don't know who to contact. Also one week before this my son had a seizure and was taken to an area hospital and had a CAT scan so they were fully aware that he suffered from seizures as they were beating him in the head.
A: You should have retained an experienced criminal defense attorney first day he was criminally charged. If you are indigent he should have requested a Public Defender counsel at no charge first time he was in front of the presiding judge.
