Q: Can an insurance adjuster in NC have an unlicensed third party provide findings AND estimate, and sign off/approve it?
Looking for legal answer regarding property and casualty insurance adjusting, specifically claims handling. Can a licensed NC adjuster have a third party collect photo documentation of property damages AND provide an estimate to the adjuster, which the adjuster signs off on (in engineering this is known as "rubber-stamping", which is not allowed by the board of engineers). We'll assume the adjuster is an independent adjuster, working for a firm who also employs the inspector who provided the documentation and estimate. Thanks!
