Asked in Animal / Dog Law for Kentucky

Q: Can I go to jail for not walking my girlfriends dog, my girl and her daughters all wanted a dog but soon lost interest

They do nothing with her. I have to feed and water even though I told them I didn't want a dog. I have been making sure it eats and cleaning it's kennel every week or two because I feel bad for it. My neighbors all think it's Mt dog because I was the only one walking it. But I can't walk it all the time and they're saying I'm neglecting the dog. Do I get in trouble for neglect? It's not my dog.

A: No, but if you don’t want to take care of it, surrender it to a shelter where the dog can get a good home.
